About
Ever bought a car with a clean history check, only to discover it is a money pit three months later? We have. That is why we built CarVerity.
We give you the reliability story that standard checks miss.
The problem with standard checks
Standard history checks tell you if a car has outstanding finance or has been written off. That is important, but it is not the full picture.
They do not tell you if the car has developed a pattern of expensive issues. They do not flag repeat advisories or warning signs of costly failures ahead.
CarVerity focuses on reliability. We analyse MOT patterns, repair-cost risk, and real-world behaviour to help you spot the difference between a solid car and a future headache.
How we score reliability
Our scoring is based on clear rules and data patterns, not black-box AI predictions. We look at three key areas:
1MOT history
We look for patterns, not just pass or fail results:
- •Repeat advisories that keep coming back
- •Problems showing up early in a car's life
- •Missed or late MOT tests
- •Sudden increases in defects or advisories
Recent issues matter more than old ones. A problem from last month counts more than one from five years ago.
2Running-cost risk
We use industry repair-cost data to estimate how expensive this car might be to run. This helps you spot:
- •Cars prone to expensive repairs
- •Components that commonly fail
- •Whether this car sits in a high or low risk bracket for its type
3Age & mileage
We check if the mileage makes sense for the car's age and look for anything unusual:
- •Is the mileage typical for UK use?
- •Has it been consistent over time?
- •Any unusual jumps or drops that might need a closer look?
No one can buy a better score
We do not accept payments from dealers or sellers. Scores cannot be influenced or adjusted. What you see is what the data says.
We are open about what we measure, while keeping the exact scoring formula protected. This stops sellers gaming the system and lets us keep improving the engine without compromising accuracy.
